The Scholarship Raffle

What is it?

The raffle is a fun event to raise money for scholarships for a few lucky students that attend our colleges.

How do we get the items for the raffle?

The raffle items are brought/donated to the conference by you, the attendees.  The book or scientific sales reps may also graciously donate items to the raffle as well.  Some people chose to bring something humorous, others chose to bring something appealing, such as an item, or package/basket of items, something that you would like to win.  Please try to bring at least one donation item for the raffle to help student education and to add to organization’s treasury fund to attract excellent speakers in the future.

How does the raffle work?

You purchase tickets - $1 each or 6 for $5.  Each raffle item will have a bucket in front of it.  You put your tickets into the buckets of your choice.  The more tickets you put into an item's bucket, the better chance you have of winning that item.  Please try to participate in this fun event.  The more people that participate, the more fun it is.  And you will probably head home with something awesome!

Whose students get the cash?

This is determined by a raffle on Saturday morning.  Everyone gets one entry for attending the conference, an additional entry for every item donated to the auction, and one additional entry for every $5 spent on the raffle.  If your name is chosen on Saturday morning, then you get to choose your favorite student as the recipient.  Five scholarships will be raffled this year.  One goes to the President and four for random raffle winners.

How much is each scholarship?

Each scholarship is $400.

What about any extra money we raise?

Any money raised beyond the scholarships will be added to the IACCB treasury fund and used to attract future speakers.

Not only do we thank you in advance for your participation in the auction, but so do your deserving students!!!!
